John Anderson is an international counsel in the London office, and a member of the Funds/Investment Management and Private Equity Groups. He advises EU and US clients with complex regulatory and tax issues in all aspects of fund formation, most notably for senior and subordinated debt, venture debt and other credit fund strategies.<br><br>
Mr. Anderson advises across the spectrum of alternative assets structures and jurisdictions, including European funds with Irish, Luxembourg or UK structures, US-based funds and typical offshore fund jurisdictions.<br><br>
Mr. Anderson also regularly advises on fund platform development matters, including greenfield manager setups and restructurings, carried interest and related team incentives planning, as well as on co-investment and separate account arrangements.<br><br>
Mr. Anderson started his career at Debevoise, spending 14 years advising the firm’s major funds clients. In that time, he worked in both New York and London, developing an impressive international practice.<br><br>
Mr. Anderson also spent six years as a Partner and General Counsel at a leading private debt manager, playing an important role in its growth and establishing its in-house legal team, before re-joining Debevoise in London.<br><br>
Mr. Anderson is recommended by The Legal 500 UK (2022) for his work advising on fund structures and regulatory issues.<br><br>
