Frédéric Gauvin is the President and CIO of University of Sherbrooke Pension Fund. Mr. Gauvin has over 20 years of experience in financial management, including asset allocation, portfolio management, risk management, treasury, and investment and derivative product evaluation. Mr. Gauvin is also a financial risk management consultant, collaborating on several asset management projects with several institutional investors. He has also worked for the Canadian Derivative Clearing Corporation as the head of market risk, Ernst & Young, Société Générale, and State Street Global Advisors. In addition, he is a member of the Investment Committees of the Quebec Notaries Chamber, the Quebec Notaries Professional Liability Fund, the Quebec Architect Liability Fund and the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary of Quebec foundation and investment fund.

Holding the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) title, he graduated from the University of Sherbrooke with a Master’s degree in finance in 1998. His skills and experience in risk management align well with best practices for managing a retirement plan.
