David Spreng is Founder, CEO and CIO of Runway Growth Capital, which provides growth loans of $10m to $100m to fast growing companies in the US, Canada, and Western Europe. Runway maintains offices in Silicon Valley, San Diego, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, and New York City and has strategic backing from Oaktree Capital Management. David has over 30 years of experience as a venture capitalist and growth-debt lender. As a VC, he was active in the formation and development of nearly 50 technology companies with 18 IPOs and 14 trade-sales. He was ranked multiple times by Forbes magazine as one of the top venture capitalists on their annual Midas List (#8 VC in 2006). He served on the board and as chair of the Government Affairs Committee of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). In 2010, David co-founded Decathlon Capital, the leading provider of revenue-based loans. David has been a frequent speaker and panelist at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos and has been featured in Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Fortune, Barron’s, Financial Times, Private Debt Investor, Venture Capital Journal, Financier Worldwide, MarketWatch, and Cheddar.
