Ashwani Singh, Managing Partner & CIO, 35North Ventures Pvt Ltd, the investment manager of “India Discovery Fund”, comes with over 25 years of senior management experience in global financial services and industry in multiple geographies –Private Banking, Investment Banking, Investment Management. India Discovery Fund is India’s largest Category 1 AIF, Angel Fund with a USD100 Mn SEBI approval. He has managed advisory assets in excess of $3.0 billion and has extensive fund raising and board level experience. Ashwani is a speaker at several International financial services events including alternative investment events, EuroMoney Conferences and has been a special invitee to teach at RBI – the Indian regulator’s staff college.<br><br>
He also helped set-up the asset management arm of Innoterra Group (erstwhile Pioneering Ventures AG), Agricrest Investment Advisors Pvt Ltd. He heads the investments for Green Lands Impact Fund, a 300 Crore Category II SEBI regulated debt fund which invests into NCD of Indian Farming companies doing tropical fruits like Banana and Pineapple.<br><br>
In his previous assignments at blue-chip organisations like Barclays Capital, T Rowe Price, ABN AMRO, ICICI Bank, Reckitt Benckiser, he has built and led large multi-location teams in excess of 3000 members. He has been an advisor to a US $4bn multi-family Infra fund, TATA Realty Fund, European Investors on unlisted forays into Emerging Markets among others. In his last role in London, he was the COO & CIO for UTI International, an FII into India and a group company of T Rowe Price, an USD1.46 trillion US Asset Manager. He personally ran a convertible arbitrage fund which gave 23% USD gross returns on an unleveraged basis. He had earlier run a USD 1.2 Billion Credit product for Barclays Capital based on Indian Debt.
